We’re really grateful to everyone who has supported our fundraising events and sponsored Destination Africa which enabled us to make this trip a reality. A big thank you goes out to family, friends, clients, fellow hairdressers and the public who have all played their part in helping us raise £17,600 to pay for building materials for the orphanage’s new community centre and for our travel costs for the 30 hour journey.

As part of the challenge each team member had to raise £2,000 and we are delighted to have exceeded our target and raised £18,000.

Salon Success swells Destination Africa fund

We're delighted that Salon Success based in Aylesbury have generously donated £1,000 to Destination Africa. This takes the total we've raised to £2,770 to date. We're so grateful for such fantastic help and support.

Founded over 30 years ago Salon Success is the UK's sole distributor of Paul Mitchell Luxury Hair Care. Through its 'Three•Six•Five' arm it educates, inspires and helps hairdressers worldwide run truly great businesses.

Jennie Baldwin Salon Success's Director of Corporate Sales said: "We are delighted to be able to help Destiny Hair towards their target to raise funds for Destination Africa. The plight of the orphaned children in Africa is such a worthy cause and close to the heart of us all at Paul Mitchell and Salon Success.

We love Tracey Gascoin and her brilliant team at Destiny Hair and truly admire their commitment to the cause. We wish them every success in their efforts to reach the fundraising target and of course the life-changing visit to Africa in May next year."

Our thanks also go to Lockhart Meyer Salon Marketing who were our first sponsor and who work very closely with us on marketing our business - they even designed our gorgeous new website! They donated over £1,000 worth of web design work to help us promote this cause and ultimately – help the orphans of Ubombo.
